Mission: To promote healthier land by soil improvement, plant variety, research, and education.
Sterling Farms maintains a pine forest, and produces mixed hardwood and softwood tree varieties for lumber, landscaping, wildlife habitat, erosion control and aesthetics. We produce mulch, wood chips, sawdust and growing soil for gardens and greenhouses. We work closely with colleges and universities to provide opportunities for research and horticultural internship experience.
Sterling Farms markets (as available) mulch, growing soil, sawdust, worms, blackberry bushes, trees and shrubs for landscaping, fireplace logs or pellets from compressed wood byproducts, sawmill lumber, and other related products.
We will soon be producing starter kits consisting of five medicinal plant starts (herbal remedies, used by native Americans from this region) along with a DVD explain the plant uses, and how to harvest, prepare, and use the plants for their healing qualities.
